Himachal Pradesh continues to be battered by severe monsoon weather, with major landslides reported in Shimla and McLeodganj, and a deadly cloudburst causing destruction in Kinnaur.
The state government plans to enhance its disaster management capabilities by integrating advanced technology and artificial intelligence into its response systems.
In a significant policy change, the education department has banned the use of mobile phones for both students and teachers during school hours.
Despite monsoon-related damages, the state recorded higher apple arrivals in markets, while the High Court suspended toll collection at Sanwara due to poor road conditions.
A judicial ruling mandated that compensation for land acquisition must be provided to all affected landowners, including those who did not approach the court.
The government is focusing on recovery, with geological surveys beginning in landslide-affected areas and plans to foster a robust industrial ecosystem.
Actress Kangana Ranaut's visit to flood-affected regions drew attention as she advocated for a relief package for the tourism industry while facing local protests.
